TUFLOW Message
ERROR 2070 - More than one rainfall gauge applied to 2D cell.
Alternate Message
ERROR 2070 - Same rainfall gauge applied to 2D cell more than once.
Message Type
ERROR
Description
This ERROR message has two variations: one which states that more than one (different) rainfall gauges have been applied to a single cell, and the other which states that the same (duplicate) rainfall gauges have been applied to a single cell.
Suggestions
For the first "more than one rainfall gauges" ERROR, the message tells the user that overlapping RF polygons referencing different hyetographs has been assigned to an individual cell. This ERROR will be outputted if the .tcf command Rainfall Gauges has been set to One per Cell (as opposed to the default of Unlimited per Cell). Setting to One per Cell may be used as a quality control check to prevent duplication when spatially varying rainfall is used. If the duplication of rainfall is intentional (for example, the model uses one RF polygon to represent rainfall and another to represent infiltration) specify Unlimited per Cell to suppress the ERROR.
For the second "same rainfall gauge" ERROR, the message tells the user that overlapping RF polygons referencing the same hyetograph has been assigned to an individual cell. The message is warning the user that the rainfall has been duplicated. In this scenario, setting Rainfall Gauges == Unlimited per Cell will not suppress the warning. Instead, the user must check for overlapping polygons and amend where necessary to remove the ERROR. Note that if the common boundary of two adjacent polygons falls on a cell centre (ZC point), this ERROR message may be outputted.
