TUFLOW Message
ERROR 1998 - Water level of <water level> exceeds range in Node <node ID> at

Alternate Message
N/A

Message Type
ERROR

Description
The water level in a 1D node has exceeded the instability water level for the node. The default instability water level is 10 times the maximum depth in the Nodal Area table. This can be modified with the .ecf command: "Depth Limit Factor == ". This can occur if the 1D node fluctuates widely due to stability issues and may result in a NaN (not a number).

Suggestions
Please refer to Section 14.3 of the 2016 TUFLOW manual for tips on finding the start of an instability.
