If there is a negative gradient, the tool will switch the pipe direction. Based on pipe direction continuity will do a basic check on places where the pipe direction does not appear to be continuous. It will ignore pipes that connect to junctions with 3 or more other pipes as these can be ambiguous in determining continuity.
