Tutorial M03 Results QGIS update V2 draft

Introduction

QGIS is used to view the 1D time series results with the TUFLOW Viewer V2. For viewing of the 2D map results, and activating TUFLOW Viewer V2, see Module 1.

Method

Plot Time Series results through the culverts:

1. Open the Map Outputs and Plot Output results, either:
   • Within the QGIS Browser Panel drag the following layers into the QGIS workspace, or

   • Module_03\TUFLOW\results\M03_5m_001.xmdf > loads the map output mesh results
   • Module_03\TUFLOW\results\plot\M03_5m_001.tpc > loads the time series output results

   • In File Explorer, navigate to the files above and drag and drop them into the QGIS workspace.
2. Select the M03_5m_001_PLOT_L file in the Layers panel and click on the 'TUFLOW Viewer Plot Window' icon. The plot widget will open.
3. Select the Data Types icon and click on 'Flow', then using the 'Selection' tool highlight one of the 1d_nwk lines.
   
   
   
   
   

Click the plus symbol next to the time series tab and select the Cross Section Plot tool:

1. Select the Data Types icon and click on 'Bed Level, Max Water Level, Water Level, Pipes', then using the 'Selection' tool highlight one of the 1d_nwk lines.
   
   
   
   

Conclusion

• The 1D results were assessed including time series and long profile results using TUFLOW Viewer V2.
