There is a known bug in the 2023-03 release (pre 2023-03-AF build) that caused soil layers that had an 'Initial Moisture' parameter in the TSOILF greater or equal to the soil porosity to change the soil type to 'NONE' which could cause this error to trigger (search the TLF for "WARNING 2508" to confirm). Either upgrade to the 2023-03-AF build (or more recent) or check the initial moisture parameter in the TSOILF is less than the soil porosity value.

TUFLOW Message
ERROR 2594 - For soil ID "<>" soil type is not "CO" required for soil layers > 1

Alternate Message
NA

Message Type
ERROR

Description
Soil layers that are not the top most layer must use the 'CO' type within the TSOILF.

Suggestions
Ensure any soil layers specified using the TGC command(s) "Set Soil Layer N == " or "Read GIS Soil Layer N ==" or "Read GRID Soil Layer N ==", where N is a number with a value of 2 or more, are referencing soil ID's of 'CO' type. are not referencing soil IDs that are not a 'CO' type.
Refer to the TUFLOW Manual for more information.

Note: There is a known bug in the 2023-03 release (pre 2023-03-AF build). It causes soil layers that have an 'Initial Moisture' parameter in the TSOILF that is greater than or equal to the soil porosity to change the soil type to 'NONE'. This could cause this error to trigger. To avoid this, either upgrade to the 2023-03-AF build (or more recent), or check the initial moisture parameter in the TSOILF is less than the soil porosity value.
