Description
A skew angle can be used to adjust the cross-section properties for XZ and CS/HW data according to the skew angle. Useful where the cross-section line is surveyed oblique to the flow direction. The skew angle is zero degrees in the direction of flow and 90 degrees if surveyed a right angles(!) to the direction of flow. For example, a value of 45 adjusts the horizontal dimensions by dividing by the √2.
Suggestions
Cross-sections can't be perpendicular to flow direction. Specify a skew angle of 89.9 degrees or less.
If converting from an older model with additional attributes in the 1d_xs layer, care should be taken as the 12th column is now treated as a skew angle if it is a numeric field. An additional "Skew Angle" attribute should be added as the 12th column and set to zero.
