Enrico C. Paringit received his BS Geodetic Engineering and MS Remote Sensing degrees from the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman in 1997 and 1999 respectively. After finishing his Dr. Eng. degree from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, he went on research fellowship with support from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science until 2005. In 2008, Dr. Paringit became Chair of the UP Department of Geodetic Engineering and Director of the TCAGP. Dr Paringit’s research interests include developing applications of remote sensing and GIS in hydrology and coastal resources. Dr Paringit is currently involved in coming up with flood hazard maps using high-resolution digital elevation model.
