TUFLOW Message
ERROR 1998 - Water level of <water level> exceeds range in Channel <channel ID> at

Alternate Message
N/A

Message Type
ERROR

Description
The water level in a 1D channel has exceeded the instability water level for the channel. The default instability water level is 10 times the maximum depth in the cross-section for the channel. This can be modified with the .ecf command: "Depth Limit Factor == ". This can occur if the 1D water level fluctuates widely due to stability issues and may result in a NaN (not a number).

Suggestions
Please refer to Section 14.3 of the 2016 TUFLOW manual for tips on finding the start of an instability.
