Senior Project Engineer, HDR Inc, Folsom, CA, USA.

Pani is a senior hydraulic engineer with a wide range of experience in riverine and overland flow hydraulics, transient analysis of water distribution systems and water resource systems analysis. Pani has a rare blend of theoretical and applied research background tempered by more than 12 years of consulting engineering experience in both free surface and pipe network problems.

Pani has worked in and lead small to large scale projects in water resource systems, H&H modeling, water distribution systems and storm water systems. Pani has worked with municipal, industrial, state and federal clients and has coordinated with various agencies on engineering studies and outreach activities. His main clients include California Department of Water Resources, FEMA, Alabama Office of Water Resources, and Conoco Phillips.

Pani has more than 18 years of programming experience in C++ and has developed a module for widely used pipe network analysis program, KYPIPE (aka Pipe2012 of University of Kentucky). His other notable work include (1) program for transient analysis of complex pipe networks and optimal sizing of surge vessels using genetic algorithm optimization (2) a basin simulation software developed for State of Tamilnadu, India. He has developed several automation tools for productivity and quality control throughout his career. Pani is also very skilled with terrain development and GIS processes.

Pani has several publications in national and international journals and conferences. He has made several presentations at industry conferences. Pani is also serving as reviewer for peer reviewed journals (ASCE & AWWA).
