This GIS layer contains information on the 1D channels for the simulation.
The _1d_nwk_N check file contains information on the 1D nodes.

Attributes of nwk_C_check

Attribute Name Attribute Description
ID The channel ID.
Type The channel type, see the TUFLOW Manual for a list of channel types.

For example an "S" type channel is a standard open channel, an "R" type channel is a rectangular culvert.

Ignore "T" (true) if the channel has been set to ignore in the input 1d_nwk file, "F" (false) otherwise.
UCS The "Use Channel Storage at Nodes" (UCS) setting for the channel. If set to "T" (true) or "Y" (yes) the channel is contributing to the nodal area tables of the connected nodes. If set to "F" (false) or "N" (no), the channel is not contributing to the nodal area tables.
Len_or_ANA The length of the channel.

This can be mapped or selected in GIS to highlight areas where the channels are very short. Short channels (particularly open channels) can drive down the required timestep or introduce stability issues.

n_nF_Cd The Manning’s n value of the channel (for Blank, C, G, I, R, S Channel Types) or Discharge Coefficient (for RG, SG, SP Channel Types).
US_Invert The elevation of the upstream invert for the channel.
DS_Invert The elevation of the downstream invert for the channel.
Form_Loss Any additional form loss applied for the channel. For B channels this can vary with height and this data is in the EOF file.
pBlockage The percentage blockage of the channel.
Inlet_Type The inlet type for a pit channel.
Conn_1D_2D The 1D/2D connection type for a pit channel.
Conn_No The connection number for a pit channel.
Width_or_Dia The width or diameter of the channel if specified on the input 1d_nwk layer. For a channel with a cross-section, this is output in the 1d_hyroprop_ check file.
Height_or_WF The height or weir factor for the channel (if used).
Number_of The number of channels.
HConF_or_WC Height contraction coefficient for I and R type channels. For new weir channels, if weir coefficient Cd, refer to the TUFLOW Manual for details on weir equations.
WConF_or_WEx Width contraction coefficient for C, I and R type channels. For new weir channels, if weir flow equation exponent Ex, refer to the TUFLOW Manual for details on weir equations.
EntryC_or_WSa Entry loss coefficient for C, I and R type channels. For new weir channels, if weir submergence factor "a", refer to the TUFLOW Manual for details on weir equations.
ExitC_or_WSb Exit loss coefficient for C, I and R type channels. For new weir channels, if weir submergence factor "b", refer to the TUFLOW Manual for details on weir equations.
i_1d_nwk The index to the input layer that has created the manhole. For example an i_1d_nwk value of 1 would be the 1st input layer (1d_nwk_M05_pipes_001_L) below.

pSlope Percentage slope of the channel. A positive slope indicates the upstream invert invert is higher than the downstream invert. For a negative value this indicates that the channel has an adverse slope.

This can be mapped or selected in GIS to highlight areas where the channels may be unrealistically steep.

In the image below, the _1d_nwk_C check file has been styled by percentage slope to identify any adverse gradients that may have been applied.
