Description
Raised HX 2D cell ZC Zpt by <value> to 1D bed level.
Suggestions
HX lines require that 2D cells have to be at or above the 1d bed level. For 1D cross-section-based domains, this will generally be the case. For culverts using HX boundaries (especially common with SWMM), the 2D domain may be lower than connected culverts. Small increases in the 2D elevations for the connected cells will have little impact on model results but it is important to make sure that the values are accurate.
SWMM Specific For SWMM models with culverts connected using HX boundaries, it may be desirable to not raise the 2D cells along the HX boundary. This can be accomplished by lowering the node elevation to the 2D cell elevation and then adding the amount lowered to the connected channel's upstream offset. This places the pipe at the same elevation but puts the node at a lower elevation. A storage node is often recommended for this situation sized so the area matches the attached HX cells which do not represent their own storage for both accuracy and stability.
