Tutorial M09 Results QGIS update V2 draft

Introduction

QGIS is used to load and view a range of event magnitudes and durations with the TUFLOW Viewer 2. For viewing of the 2D map results, see Module 1.

TUFLOW Project Re-Configuration

  1. Set the QGIS workspace projection to EPSG:32760, see Set the Projection.
  2. Save the QGIS workspace by selecting Project > Save As.

Method

Inspect the results for all events:

  1. Open the Map Outputs and Time Series results, either:
    • Within the QGIS Browser Panel drag the following layers into the QGIS workspace, or
    • Module_09\TUFLOW\results\M09_5m_05p_1hr_001.xmdf > loads the 1% 1hr map output mesh results
    • Module_09\TUFLOW\results\M09_5m_05p_2hr_001.xmdf > loads the 1% 2hr map 1hr output mesh results
    • Module_09\TUFLOW\results\M09_5m_02p_1hr_001.xmdf > loads the 2% 1hr map output mesh results
    • Module_09\TUFLOW\results\M09_5m_02p_2hr_001.xmdf > loads the 2% 2hr map output mesh results
    • Module_09\TUFLOW\results\M09_5m_01p_1hr_001.xmdf > loads the 5% 1hr map output mesh results
    • Module_09\TUFLOW\results\M09_5m_01p_2hr_001.xmdf > loads the 5% 2hrmap output mesh results
  2. The TUFLOW Viewer discplays all six simulation runs using event management:

  3. Inspect the extent, water level and the flow plot output for each event:

Conclusion

  • The results of all event magnitudes and durations were inspected using the TUFLOW Viewer.
  • For further functionality, see TUFLOW Viewer 2 documentation.
