Introduction

Grid File Formats
A Vertical Mapper grid consists of two files: a MapInfo Table file (.tab) and a .grd (numeric grid) or .grc (classified grid). Most of the grids that are used (such as Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) are numeric grids. These gird files are binary and are only edited within the Vertical Mapper interface.
